Frequently Asked Questions
- What kind of output data can be obtained?
-
e-skin MEVA exports three major formats of data
- 1) CSV format - Contains sensor data and full body kinematics data for post processing.
- 2) BVH format - An ASCII text file, the first part of which provides the specifications for the initial pose of a human skeleton, and the rest a time-framed sequence of different specifications for subsequent poses.
- 3) SBC format (a custom format for e-skin MEVA software only) to replay data and animate captured motion offline.
- What kind of data can I get in CSV format?
-

ANATOMICAL LANDMARKS: 3D anatomical landmark data for full body as virtual markers - a unified marker set using conventional protocols (Plug-in Gait Model, Rizzoli, Biomech), validated through its frequent citation in peer-reviewed publications for human motion tracking.
Other
- Ground Contact Probability (Estimated probability of feet having ground contact)
- Can I measure with my current EMG device at the same time as measuring with the e-skin MEVA?
-
Yes, you can use e-skin MEVA Trigger Box to time-synchronize the motion data of e-skin MEVA with the data measured by third-party devices.
It is an optional device that outputs a trigger signal so that the data can be synchronized afterwards. When e-skin MEVA is operated with the trigger box connected, an electrical signal (5V/0V) is generated and recorded in the connected external device as a trigger. - In what field is this used?
-
It is mainly used in the fields of healthcare and biomechanics.
It is used for rehabilitation, gait analysis, motion analysis, activities of daily living, upper limb motion analysis, posture analysis, ergonomic evaluation, robotics research, welfare engineering field, usability evaluation, driving motion measurement, and boarding and exiting motion evaluation. - Can a person with a physical disability use it?
-
e-skin MEVA Relax pants can easily be put on and taken off in a sitting or standing position with the assistance of only one caretaker.
